Friday Freebie: Woodcarving

In Waldorf education students learn a number of handwork skills including carving. They start by carving a spoon and then learn more advanced carving techniques until they are able to carve an entire instrument in ninth grade. Enjoy this free video below that shows a Waldorf teacher carving a wooden chick for her classroom. This wooden chick can be used for a nature table or as a storytelling prop. This also makes a nice holiday gift – especially for stockings.
