Tree in the Trail

USD $12.75

The history of the Great Plains and the Santa Fe Trail is told in text and pictures by focusing on a cottonwood tree and the events that happen around it.

I read this book to my children when they were younger and it is absolutely mesmerizing. He writes about the tree in such a way that we became attached to it and the journey it was taking through history. The story is written in such a genuine way that you start to forget the tree is a tree at all. However, he does not make it into a character – it is simply a tree and we become connected with it. This made the historical stories that came along with it even more fascinating. This is such an amazing way to learn about history and one that is sure to stick in your child’s mind for years. Who can forget taking a journey with a tree?
