Catherine Allegretti graduated from Wesleyan University in 1998 with a BA in English and American Studies. She received her teaching certification in English for non-English-speaking adults in 2000. After teaching English as a Second Language for workforce development and college readiness programs, she taught English & Math to middle school students before taking a position teaching in a low-security prison. Catherine has always used Waldorf methods in these non-traditional classrooms with success with at-risk and underserved students since she was first introduced to Waldorf Education and teaching methods in 1999 through her children’s school. In addition, she has independently studied Waldorf methods & philosophy for the last 15 years. In her free time, Catherine plays the Appalachian dulcimer, is a certified master gardener, and enjoys most creative activities.
