I corrected and commented on a few exams this week. Doing this always brings important points to my attention that I would like to share with you. This week I’d like to share some points about aromatherapy that may or may not be included or emphasized in the material:
1. When suggesting aromas for clients one should always start clients out with one oil at a time so they can document or monitor any possible allergic reaction to the oil.
2. Special care should be taken with any client that has indicated problems with allergies, asthma, stress, skin irritations or sensitivities of other kinds.
3. Children’s concentrations of aromatherapy unless testing indicates they can tolerate a more concetrated formula.
