Elke Vidler is the Website Manager for Earthschooling, bringing together her professional experience in graphic design, marketing, website management, and online business with more than fifteen years of homeschooling her children.
Before becoming a mother, Elke worked across design studios, print houses, marketing agencies, newspapers and magazines, real estate advertising, and large-format printing in Sydney, Australia. For the past fifteen years, she and her husband have run an online marketing business together alongside homeschooling their family. For the past ten years, they have worked behind the scenes to support Earthschooling’s website, helping to keep it functioning smoothly and optimally. In her role as Website Manager, Elke draws on this experience to manage and refine the website, improve the way information is presented, and support a clear and welcoming experience for families.
Elke and her family moved from Australia’s mainland east coast to southern Tasmania when their eldest child was young, seeking a slower and more mindful pace of life, a deeper connection with the seasons, and the experience of raising their children in a rural community. She and her husband first fell in love with Tasmania’s wilderness while visiting for a music festival in their early twenties. They now live in the beautiful Huon Valley, where Elke has spent more than fifteen years educating her children while cultivating a life centered on family, faith, creativity, and the rhythms of the seasons.
Through everyday experiences—whether in the garden, around the kitchen table, out in nature, or deep in conversation with family and friends—Elke has discovered that some of life’s greatest lessons are found in its simplest moments. She believes that education is about far more than academics; it is about forming thoughtful, capable, and compassionate human beings who will one day contribute positively to the world around them.
As her children begin taking their own first steps into the adult world, Elke brings to Earthschooling the perspective of a long-time homeschooling parent who understands both the richness of the journey and the practical needs of families along the way.
