Thursday Thoughts: Laughing and Your Immune System

For an introduction to my “Tuesday Tips and Thursday Thoughts” series please see the article “An Invitation to Embrace Your Journey and Follow Mine.”

These short thoughts/tips are meant to be a brief and efficient way to offer a quick touch of inspiration for the day.

Laughing and Your Immune System

When was the last time you had some silly fun?

We visited this lovely cafe that has shells under each table simply because it was fun. Then of course my daughter had to wear her seahorse dress and I had to bring my seahorse purse.

We ordered whatever sounded the funniest on the menu – things we had never eaten before – and laughed so much. What makes you laugh?

Laughing is so therapeutic and healthy for the body. Every time you laugh it reduces your stress hormones such as cortisol and epinephrine.

Laughing also increases the effectiveness of T-cells which boosts your immune system and has been known to reduce pain.
