The Physical Side of Emotions
Watch for physical messages attached to emotional issues. When I look at this photo I took of an adorable tiny kitten yawning I have a physical response of warmth and a bit of a tingling feeling. Do you have a physical response to this picture or other pictures?
We sometimes forget that our physical, emotional, and mental parts are all part of the same blood flow in the body. In fact, often your body will send you physical signals because you are ignoring the emotional signals it has already sent you. For example, if you are in a bad relationship (with another person, a friend, at the workplace, etc…) your body will respond with emotional signals.
However, if you stay in the bad relationship and ignore the emotional signals (“oh everyone’s boss is mean I just need to toughen up and stop feeling bad, my boyfriend abuses me but he apologizes and says he is working on it so I should just be patient and stop feeling sad…”) your body WILL send physical signals instead.
Fear of a person can turn into shaking and anxiety, sadness can turn into lack of physical energy, anger can turn into digestive issues, and much more. So if you can’t find an obvious physical reason for a physical issue you are having – look to your relationships with the people and the world around you.
