Tuesday Tip: How to Find Your Triggers

These short thoughts/tips are meant to be a brief and efficient way to offer a quick touch of inspiration for the day.

Find your Triggers

Just like some people find that snakes trigger immediate fear in them we all have things that trigger fear and other emotions. What are your triggers? They may actually not be so easy to spot.

Are you trying to reduce caffeine so you sleep better? Are you trying to avoid foods that make you feel low energy? Are you trying to increase your energy levels? Are you trying to lose some weight?

After many years of bragging that, “I don’t need to sleep much” I found that one of my triggers that throws me into negative moods and actions is actually – tada! – sleep.

If I don’t get enough sleep my body spends the entire day craving different foods and sending my brain messages like, “If you eat this fatty sugary food you will feel less tired” or, “You can’t work – don’t feel energetic” or,” Don’t exercise today because you already feel tired”.
