Thursday Thoughts: Keeping a Journal

These short thoughts/tips are meant to be a brief and efficient way to offer a quick touch of inspiration for the day.

Keep a journal to increase well-being

Keep a journal, even if it is not daily.

Write down the reasons you want to transform your health and then write down how your lifestyle changes have surprised you. Often when I ask clients why they are on a special diet, why they changed their food habits or why they started going to the gym they give only a one word answer. The answer is often, “I want to lose weight” or “I want to feel better” but identifying ALL the wonderful benefits you are enjoying with your lifestyle change can inspire you, add more energy to your day and uplift your spirit.

Saying you are changing your lifestyle just to lose weight is like saying you are going to school just to learn math or you are going to a movie just to see one scene or reading a book just to know the ending.

Starting a healing journey will have a wide range of benefits and some may even be a surprise.

The reason I love this photo is because I took it from a kayak at 5am. Before I started on my new journey I was unable to wake up before 10am.
